Main Street Monroe/Downtown Development Authority Gives Downtown an Electrical Upgrade
posted October 2nd, 2008
PRESS RELEASE This summer the Main Street Monroe/Downtown Development Authority (MSM/DDA) completed an upgrade of the downtown electrical capacity. Five locations received improvements and/or repairs including: Altrusa Park, the Kiosk (corner of Washington and Front Streets), Loranger Square, East First Street (alley across from City Hall) and Cass Street. The increased capacity and repairs provide additional capabilities for events, outdoor activities, seasonal decorations and more. The MSM/DDA felt that this was an important project to support downtown activities and save the cost to event organizers for generators. This will also increase the capabilities of winter events which were previously limited due to the amount of electricity used for decorative lights. To find out more information about other projects the MSM/DDA accomplished this year, downtown events, and more about Downtown Monroe, visit our website at www.monroemainstreet.com.
